Make sure your windows and doors are sealed on the outside to help keep your heat inside. Visually inspect the outside around the windows and doors and if you see gaps, chances are heat is escaping through those cracks. If you find larger spaces fill them with insulation before sealing them to prevent cold air from coming in and hot air from going out.
